🐽 Nikon 24 70Mm F 2.8 E Vr Review
The 16-80mm f/2.8-4E is Nikon’s latest mid-range zoom for the DX body cameras. Effectively, it’s the 24-120mm (equivalent) zoom for DX. We have a fair number of things to discuss about this new lens, starting with the E designation. That means that aperture control is now electronic; the lens has no aperture activation arm that mechanically
The price is definitely the major drawback imo. I'd love a standard zoom with these features, but not as this price. It kinda strange the Sony 24-70mm GM (wich is getting great reviews, great bokeh rendering imo for standard zoom), is 300 euro cheaper, especially knowing that Sony lenses most of time cost more then Nikkors, and this is the top of line from sony!
The optical formula consists of 20 elements in 16 groups, while a 9-blade diaphragm helps to create a pleasing, natural out of focus area with beautiful bokeh. Additionally, the AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR features a new filter diameter of 82mm and will accept the new Nikon CPL2 Circular Polarizer and 82mm NC (Neutral Color) filters.
Compared to Nikon 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G VR. Priced at $669, the new Nikon 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G VR might seem like a good alternative to the Tamron 24-70mm. The AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR ups the capabilities of its predecessor through the addition of four-stop effective VR, which compensates for camera shake to better enable handheld shooting in difficult lighting. The constant f/2.8 maximum aperture enhances low-light performance while providing control over depth of field. Also new to this
If you could not do without f/2.8, you had to use the Nikon AF-S 24-70 mm f/2.8 E ED VR with the adapter from Nikon F to Nikon Z mount before the arrival of the Nikon Z 24-70 mm f/2.8. That combination is so much bigger than the new Nikon Z 24-70 mm f/2.8 S that just the difference in dimensions justifies the switch to the new lens.
Nikon's AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR includes vibration reduction, a feature that other f/2.8 zooms in this class, including rival Canon's venerable EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM ($1,599.00 at
